Easington is an ex-mining village near to County Durham and is known as one of the Peterlee Villages.
From 2008 until 2018 there were over 108 boarded up properties over what are known as the A and B Streets, that is Allen Street, Avon Street, Anthony Street, Ascot Street, Bradley Street, Barwick Street and Bourne Street.
In 2017 the principles of Ready Let started negotiations with the Receivers who controlled all of these boarded up houses. The houses themselves needed major renovation to make them homes for people to live in.
So, in 2018 having secured the houses, Ready Let started their renovation project which is going on today August 2019. To date almost 70 of these houses are back as family homes.
The area has improved so much that families from outside the area want to move in our renovated houses. There are new shops opening in Easington to cater for the demand. The council have re-tarmacked some roads and have extra PCSOs in the area.
Everybody involved with the Easington project is delighted with the results of our work.
